HI ALL
I finaly got the motor in now its time to aline the tranny so I can fabracate the crossmember.... is there any special angle need there...

1) should I just set it so the clutch pivot is level between the block and the frame? ( I think I just answered my own question here)

2) should the tail shaft be slightly down angle?

3) should I set it so the intake sets level?

Its not the stock motor or tranny.. (170 w/the small tranny) but a 200 with the fully sincroed 3spd.

Thanks

You should probably aim for a matching distance from the transmission rear output centreline to the underside of your floor pan hump, as before.

If you get really stuck, I could measure my car from the trans output centreline to the underside of the frame rails. No driveshaft in it right now, so that would be fairly easy to do. I would provide this measurement as my floorpan might be a little different - but it's still a roundbody Falcon so the frame rails are similar.

With the driveshaft, the theory is to have a matching angle at each end.

Sort of like this: _/¯

The reason is, that each angular misalignment creates a slightly irregular pulse in the shaft rotation. With matching angles and correct phasing of the U-joints, this is almost cancelled out (it's never 100% perfect but very close).

Cheers, Adam.
