tri power running on 3 webers now

i recently replaced my center carb, an autolite 1101 with a third weber ict, im thinking of changing out my center large log carb adapter with the classicinlines 1100 to large log adapter since the 1100 bore of 1.5" is a lot closer to the weber 34 bore than that of the 1.75" 1101 bore. i just dont like the idea of having a way too large opening under a small carb, seems like it would have more potential for a vacuum leak and mess with the airflow, what are your thoughts?

here is a pic of the tripower head

here is the adapter im thinking of getting

http://classicinlines.com/proddetail.as ... -200-1VA-V

another option i was thinking about doing is to get a 1/2- 3/4" thick piece of aluminum and build one myself. i would make the bore of the adapter match up exactly to the weber

also thanks 64falconsix for the advice on jetting the webers, it helped out alot

I'd personally open it up to create a favorable port mismatch, small carb orifice, big manifold hole helps short turn radius and port area, both of which are lacking in any log head. This will stave off fuel standoff, reversion, and allow fuel to stay in suspension.

The porting to valve area equation on these tri power heads is truly awful, and its a good idea to try and die grind the outer two holes to match 1.75" as well, by whatever means, foul or fair.

The big log head at least has better outer port area with 1.4375" holes rather than the 1.09" outers for pre 1968 logs, so that's a factor in your favor. You can't go wrong.

The venturi area with 29 mm bores isn't anything much, but a 34 mm throttle is 1.34", and the standard Ford 1904/1908/1940/1947/1100 carbs weren't much bigger, with 1.4375" the biggest. The big 1101 240/300 versions with the 1.6875" bore throttle weren't ever used in the 200, so why the heck was the hole made to a 1.75" diameter in the EO heads...because it flowed so much better. Favorable port mismatching works...

Three 1.75" holes should be considered the minimum if you can Devcon and Die grind to suit. .
