They're an occasional swapmeet find. Woth ringing around the wreckers, too, before you buy off "American Auto Parts".

Steve (Buickroadster) is probably the best swap crawler of the regular Sydneians.

I still want to try the dual and triple Strombergs and am kicking around the idea of getting some cheap DCOE workalikes, but in the meantime I have just won two sets of these on E-bay......

the idea is to mount six of them like this:

I think that may solve some of my dizzy clearnace problems at the same time. Each of them has a 36mm (1.41") throttle so there should be more than adequate flow. I tried to get some 38mm flatslides, but those are hard to get and more expensive.

Interesting - Mikunis, aren't they, on a Spitfire? A mate has a Spitfire ('69, I think) factory built to Le Mans spec - lots of GT6 inbuilts and a host of factory made custom parts. Think it runs Webers...

At least you won't have the obstruction issues with side-draughts like the Webers in a car with shock towers.

The Mikunis should fit nicely in the Locost, but I have lots of room for DCOE's too, should I ever go that way.

THe Mikuni/Spitfire thing has been done dozens of times and by all accounts is a great combination. The cycle carbs idle well but flow like crazy when opened up.

Fuel pressure has to be set low, so I have a regulator that I will dial down to about 2 psi, but I think the stock pump will do the trick.

Interesting...kinda like Webber's that run really low pressures.....what about the manifold, maybe you could get Harrie to make a trick aluminum sheetmetal intake......
