Will a 289/302 starter fit on a 250 with a c4?

I used the starter off of my 76 maverick with a 250/C4 (157 tooth flexplate) to start up a 1982 merc. with a 302/AOD (164 flexplate) and now I`m using that same starter with that 302 and the tranny off the 250 so yes it will work
