I have a 300 which was rebuilt about six months ago and at the time I installed a comp cams 260H cam . I had a efi head and 85 block. extreme valve noise so I changed the lifters to Comp lifters - no change- then I put in Crane dual springs -no change- Then I changed the head to a carb head -no change- I then changed the block and head to an older 83 with adjustable rockers ala chev and made certain that the lifters were quiet but the noise continues and I have been told it originates from the valves hitting the seats when closing due to to steep a ramp on the cam- has anyone experienced this?

I solved the valve train noise issue--- I pulled out the COMP CAMS 260H and put in a stock cam -- no more noise , although there is some power lost the engine no longer sounds like it's beating itself to death. To soon we get old too late we get smart - 3heads 2 blocks 2sets of lifters 2sets of valve springs later
