gentlemen (and any Ladies):

I am running into a problem finding an adapter for this conversion. I ordered one from stovebolt and the bolt pattern fits the carb but it is too small for the head. I measured the carb mounting holes on the head and found them to be approx 3.3" to center. Clifford has an adapter that is 3.75" end-to-end. That does not leave much room once the holes are drilled. Am i missing something here? Should I consider another carb?

Thanks

Bob

Sure, the carb will fit, but they are either 2 3/4" or 3 5/8" stud center to stud center to the intake manifold. Measure carefully again, I think they just sent you the wrong adapter (it happens to me all the time, which really sux).

In order to use the stovebolt adapter, you also have to use the adapter that came with your carb set-up and aligns the carb up with the log. Thus 2 adapters have to be used with the stovebolt, only 1 with Cliffords. But don't despair, there is still room to use both adapters and not have clearance problems.

Thanks for the clarifications. I went ahead and ordered the clifford adapter and linkage modification. Based on what I have been able to determine, their adapter is shorter and will match the 1.75" intake opening on my head. Thanks Again.
