i hear all about how the holley and autolite carbs seem to have problems does anyone here run the weber carbs at all? comming from vintage volkswagens we basicly have two choices solex carbs which came stock, or webers. now on my 72 squareback (looks like a little station wagon) i ran dual 34mm ict webers and they work great. instant starting quick warm up and other than adjusting the linkage every few months that was it. also i see clifford makes an adapter for using a 350 CFM demon carb which i have heard nothing but good about but never heard of anyone using it on a ford I6. would that be too much carb for say a 223 because it would be nice to use a more modern carb as i do plan on driving my 63 f100 daily.

Quite a few have the Holley/Weber (DFAV) progressive 2-bbl on thier 200's a couple use them on the 250. From what I've read, it's just right for a 200, but not *quite* enough cfm for a high-revving 250.

I've got one on my stock 200, and love it - just need to find a cheap electric choke....

Allstate Carburetor in NY ("carbdoc" on eBay) has Weber Electric Chokes for $12 + $5.50 shipping. I finally got my DGEV hooked up to my 200 and it's been running pretty good aside from some stuttering when it's cold. I haven't had the time to mess around with jets but just did a quick lean best idle adjustment.

I'll post a link to my website showing the conversion from my Autolite 1100 soon. Hopefully I can work on it this weekend. I've got a few issues to work out (like kickdown) and want to run a hard line to the regulator but I'm pleased with the results.
