If i remove the choke system from the carb will that allow a higher top end hp potential do to less restricted airflow?

Are there anyways of increasing its hp potential by boring it out etc?

What sort of gear did the NZ carbs NOT have compared to ours XECUTE?
I'd love to get rid of some of that mess hanging off the side but not sure whats important for the dissy vaccum advance.
Since the NZ carbs didnt have an egr they would have the holes in the manifold rigth?

Kiwi Facons were Completely Knocked Down (CKD) cars, with a few Completely Built Up (CBU).

The reason was the National and Labour parties wanted to keep the peasants quiet, and building an X-car is a great way to do it. Just a shame we never made CKD Cortinas...

All the CKD Falcons, post 76, pre July 86 , got emissions hooks ups and black, red and green fittings. The EGR got a blank off plate at the manifold, with a 76 DA 9F476-AA stamp on it , and a hex head allen bolt in the exhast and intake manifold. These three things do a good job in increasing emissions, as the EGR valve and pipe is gone daddy gone.

The TVS valve and other things like intake stove and all PVC gear stayed.

There was a minor performance boost from the deleation of this.

In the early 1980's, half the production was NZ assembled, half Aussie imported, some with compliance plates and EGR. 3.3's were mostly Aussie assembled till 1984, and all 4.9/5.8's and Fairlanes and LTD's were Oz made.

I think the NZ spec XF unleaded had the carb heater too, but not the cat.

Most EFI cars had all the emissions gear on it bar cats.
