I'm the new owner of a 1954 F100 pasture truck. The truck is titled 54, has a V8 vin number and a V8 54 grill. It is however sitting on a 53 frame and has I6 under the hood. I think I found with a Google search that the I6 changed from 53 to 54. This motor was running well when parked in 03.

I have photos so I'll post those in case it's enough, if not tell me where to look please.

Nice site by the way.

This truck looks like a real "hybrid." Judging by the valve cover, it looks like that engine may be a 59> 223. It could also be an early engine (215/223) with a late head or a 262 but I'm sure someone who knows better than I can probably tell more from that picture of the right side. Ultimately, you may have to take it apart to find out for sure.

a 1960 or later head as Lou said it's a 223or a 262 there is casting letters on the left side below the manifolds to tell what it is

By the location of the fuel pump and disty, it is a 223. It has the later 223 head and valve cover, but that could be used on either the earlier or later 223 block. Go to Edwins site for more info.
