I went in tonight to pick up some last little things for the engine...

I ended up getting one of those fuel filters that is glass with hose fittings on each end and has replacement filter screens inside...

are these any good? It looked neat, but sometimes the things that look neat are not I have found....

I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts... over the conventinal screw in style filter.....?

The glass filter may not be legal at the track. Down here you will fail tech for that.

They aren't pretty, but some of the other big stock filters you see on the rack are probably better. More filter area.

I personally like the stock 65 fuel pumps and filters. The one where the filter is integral to the fuel pump.

I use a plastic see-through on the inlet side of my pump. Been there since the little filter on the carb gave me trouble going up the mountains of PA in 2000. :D

Beware, I have had a car nearly ignite and know a few have thier cars burn.... Those seem to be shoddy filters and are held together with a plastic threaded stud.... Use a plastic or aluminum filter!

There's a (plastic) filter with a vapour return fitting like the 2V vapour separator, available. It looks pretty much like the standard inline 5/16" fuel filter but has a tiny fitting on th eout side with a pinhole for the vapour. This can be routed back to the pump inlet or the tank. IIRC, some Mopars had them.

My jeep has some thing like that I was wondering what it was

I agree, seeing the fuel spurt through the clear filter is neat. I have a thing about cleanliness. I am running the stock 65 fuel pump with it's integral filter plus one of those little plastic filters between the pump and the carb. I would rather replace an inline filter than my Weber 38 DGAS carb or the motor. I have been looking in Jeg's and Summit catalogs for a glass type fuel filter. They seem a little more reliable than the clear plastic filters. Eventually, I was looking at using the An type fittings and steel braided hoses. Many of those heavy-duty inline filters are designed for the AN type fitting setup. I figured it would cost me close to $50 to $60 to do my fuel system from the pump to the carb.
