For power what head should I put on my 200 block? And would it fit in place and work with no major modification?

a head off of a 79 - 83 200 or 250 would be best but you`ll want to get it milled about .030 or more depending on how much ya want to spend on gas :D

so you're saying to get it milled to make more power? or saying to get it milled so that it fits properly?

Milling the head will restore compression ratio which will result in more power. There is a limit how much you cna mill, as you have to watch your piston to valve clearance. .030 is usually a safe number, even if someone before milled the head.

according to the "performance" book the 78 and later heads have the hardened valve seats which will hold up better with todays gas. that is a change i would like to make also on my 68 falcon. then if you want the option to hop it up, go with a good 3 angle valve job. milling the head is needed to keep the comression ratio up to original. and it is also recommended to go another .020- .025 to compensate for the modern head gasket(felpro) which is twice as thick as the OEM gasket.
by the way the performance book is very good, i bought it last week and have read it several times. i think i found it somewhere on this site.

Well, by milling .030", that makes up for the gasket thickness, which is what is lowering the CR. .030 is pretty good.

As far as hardened valve seats, you can have those installed if you have the head rebuilt. A common overlooked upgrade is increasing the valve size.

A down side to the latter heads is a larger combustion chamber which lowers the CR.
