I am looking into running a 250 in my scout and I need some serous torque and hp. what is the max valve lift I can run on a stock 250?
It has a 302 v8 right now and there is not enough room to work.
9:1 comp, I will hack off the intake and port the intake and exaust to the max. I think I can fabricate a dualplane intake by making a box that the carb bolts on top of then twisting 1.5: diameter tubing so the outer cylinders have shorter runners and the inner cylinders have longer runners so all cylinders geet the air at the same time.
I am thinking of running a cam with max hp at 5000 rpm, max torque at 2500 rpm, 210/220 d at .50 , 104-110 lsa, .520-.850" valve lift.
I am thinking of running a holly 570-650 cfm 4 barrel vacume secondaries
I am looking for 330 lbs of torque and 250 hp, I know that a 250 can be tweaked to 240 with over 100 % ve, I have heard of 450lbs at 2000 rpm with a turbo. I am going naturally aspurated. I know that an engine sucks on air and the more vacume the more are it will suck down, so I figure that i need to get this engine to make more vacume. A normal modified l 250 sucks down about 350 cfm, I need to cram down 225 cfm more.
