What kind of damage can Fuel wash cause

On this 2.3 what kind of damage would be caused by cylender fuel wash... when this guy put the carb on he didn't hook up that silnoid that hooks to the Float bowl. So it rain rich for a while....
I'm going to try to look at the belt this weekend..

if gas gets down past the rings it'll clean the oil off the cylinder walls and cause alot of friction between the wall and rings waring both.

drops in compression is the main concern
 
Most everyone with a flame thrower does it with a fuel wash system. I'm set on building a propane system to avoid this cylinder washing. That said, the most widely used system, the one that everyone sells in a kit, is a fuel wash type. :?
 
8) excessive fuel will wash down the cylinder walls removing the oil and increasing wear. further fuel will get down into the oil thinning it out and cause bearing damage.
