What's the problem with header sealing?

I was considering having a friend of mine make a header for my 200 six but had read about people having problem getting them to seal properly. What's the deal with this? Is it just the quality of the headers or is there some enate problem with the exhaust sealing on these ford sixs? What says you of the heavenly FordSix Forum!!!

There is no exhaust seal problem with the stock manifold as the 3/4 port in the manifold and the head are of the same configuration. When a header is installed the 3/4 port in the manifold and the head are no longer matched without a port divider. The resulting pressure increase between the head port and the manifold outlet at 3/4 can cause gasket damage (a leak). There is no inherent design problem with the stock system and there is no inherent design problem with header / divider combination. It is important to consider the total impact of any change one makes on all effected systems before moving forward. Bottom line, the engineers probable arn't as dumb as you seem to think.
