Im thinkin Im just gonna replace the things myself, Im sick of the constant smoking at stoplights after the car is warm. It doesnt sound too aweful hard and school is out for Thanksgiving this week so I have time. Where can I find valve seals at? Does Autozone have them or do I need to special order them somewhere? I will check the local shops, but if you guys know a good place to get em, let me know! Thanks
Matt

Should be able to get them at any auto parts store, including Auto Zone, Advance or NAPA. You will need special tools to replace them whether or not you remove the head. Have you checked under the valve cover to see if it is gooped up and the oil cannot return to the pan? This might be the only problem. Don't mean to discourage you, but if it is smoking while idling at traffic lights, there is a good chance that the guides are gone and seals won't help much.

I seem to remember somethin goin on with the guides back when Dan (Importkiller) was workin on the head, but he fixed it. The reason Im thinkin seals is because of the compression test we ran. 2-6 cylinders got 180-185psi where #1 only got 90. If its the guides, what is there to do?

If the guide(s) are bad, the head will have to come off and go to a machine shop. The low compression might be a burned valve in #1. Looks like the head will need to come off for either problem. If cash is an issue, pull the valve cover and check for goop clogging the oil return holes. If they are stopped up and the oil is building up in the cover, it will seep past the seals/guides and cause smoke. But, with low compression and oil burning, I suspect #1 guide is gone.
