Sorry if this Question has been answered before. Recently bought an Unleaded XF Non EFI On LPG. Car runs fine on LPG, but the previous owner diddnt use Regular fuel (unleaded or premium unleaded) for a while (im assuming). And as such the car will not run on Petrol at the moment. What should i look for when trying to asess what could be stopping this? Blocked fuel lines and fuel pump? or could it be more than this? Any comment are appreciated.

P.S im fairly inexperienced with most terminology.

Hullo leigh,
Many hings can happen to a car that is run mostly on LPG.
More than likely it will be fuel pumpor carburettor related.
But have to start with the basics.
First I would make sure there is a usefull amount of petrol in the fuel tank and it is clean enough to use.
Would not be the first time someone has tried to run a duel fuelled car on a muddy/rusty slurry in the tank.
When that is ok.
Look at the fuel lines, s that they are in a useable and safe condition.
If the fuel in the tank had to be cleaned out, then the fuel lines will need to as well.
Now we are happy with that!
Remove the aircleaner assembly and remove the fuel line off the carburettor.
Place a small container under the fuel line, switch to petrol and crank the engine.
See if any fuel comes/is pumped out.
If yes then take the car to your mechanic to have the carburettor rebuilt and reset.
If not look at the fuel pump. The diaphragm could be split/ruptured.
Take it to your mechanic to get the fuel pump replaced and retest.
Not really!
But this should give you something to do this weekend. Get back to us if this doesnt help.
