Where are engine #'s

I have a 200 or 250 6 not sure which or what it came out of, where are the engine numbers and is there somewhere that has the specks on this motor by engine numbers?

Block numbers are on passenger side near starter but they will be partially obscurred by the starter itself.

Head numbers are on manifold in the the rear.

You can't tell the block from the head numbers either, because they are interchangeable. Look at the water pump. If it has three bolts it's a 200 and if it has 4 it's a 250.

thanks for the info, haven't been onto cars for awhile and never really got involved with the 6's other than to work on them, thought about going with a 302 setup but thinkin about stayin w/the 6 especially as I have 3 of them now and the price of gas. V8's can be economical but I never have been able to stay out of the gas pedal..........LOL
