Well there is the reason I cant the darned thing to run right, a hole in my Clifford adapter!!! Yup, I was on a different mission and had the carb off and adapter on the head. As I was piddling around under the valve cover I noticed a 1/8" hole had broke through the casting on the backside of the adapter. I'm going to JB weld that puppy up and see where it gets me. I have been looking for a vacuum leak since I put this engine in (Feb?). You have to admit, that would be a hard one to find. Almost as good as the one where the vacuum cap blew off the back of my Holley and had me pulling my hair out for months. I reached behind the carb to adjust the distributor and something sucked my skin in. Funny, you instantly forget all the anguish it caused. Oh well, just be aware that the casting is uber thin where it is ground out for the two holes at the base.
