salvagable engine?

Guys,

I've got 2 spare engines lying around, but I need to clean out the garage.
I've got a 170 63 block that already was recond, somewhere in time and a 61, presumably 170 cid (blue valve cover) block.
Both are seized up.
I need to either dump them or store them in case my current engine breaks down (not likely to happen soon, just had it recond last year). In europe these blocks are not so abundant on the salvage yards!

My question is:
Is there a difference between the 61 and 63 casting?
I noticed the 61 casting had smaller diameter push rods

Basically, should I keep the not yet reconditioned 61 block, or should I keep the already tinkered with 63 block.

rinke,

I think for American engines, 144s were blue, 170s red and 200s gold, until 1965, then possibly all blue. There was something similar in colors for Canadian engines. Not sure, but I suspect you have a 144 there...
