Valve Spring Question

Hey all, I have heard of some folks replacing stock 200 valve springs for 289 or 302 springs. I recently came across a free set of 460 springs so I grabbed them quick...just wondering if they would work as well?

Try cross-referencing to see if same part numbers come up for 289/302 and 460 OEM engine applications. If they do , your sure...

And it's only 289/302 exhaust springs. The intake springs won't work.

I read that in the Falcon Six Handbook but it didn't say why the intake valves won't work. Are they a different size or spring rate? Does anyone know?

The intake are a different size.

Forget using the 460 v springs on any of the sixs or SBFs. The 460 uses bigger/ heavier valves, springs are designed stronger/ bigger.
