Can I use this carb?

Need help on an 'early model' Autolite 1100 carb:
Even after reading and rereading the info on the SCV on our early sixes, I'm still confused.
Currently I have a '66 200 with an auto tranny. A while back, I upgraded from a Pertronix to a DSII distributor setup. When I did the conversion, I simply used the same vacuum line (goes from carb to dist.) I assumed this was correct but was/am not positive.

A person is selling a unused Autolite 1100 carb on Craigslist. He lists it as the early style carb "Keep in mind its for the 67 and below sixes with the load-o-matic dizzies with an auto trans."
If I purchase this carb, will it work on my application? Can I easily alter it to allow it to run on my setup?

"The pictures are comparing the pony one to a 68+ autolite 1100 I took a few months back."

Yes, you just can't use a different carb other than that with the load-o distributor, the reason being that the load-o dizzy needs the SCV's signal to properly advance. Just plug the vacuum port on the side of the carb (ported vacuum) and run the distributor's vacuum directly to the manifold as is necessary for the DSII, and away you go. =P

Just plug the SCV you mean? That's all there is to it? I read that I should do this with epoxy or a screw? What's an easy source for manifold vacuum?

You don't have to plug the SCV. As long as there's no vacuum line going to the ported vacuum hole on the carb, the SCV doesn't do anything. And best manifold vacuum is on the intake, where you would have a line going to the modulator on the trans. Tee it off. =P
