Harmonic Balancer spun outer groove of on test drive

I just got finished putting my engine in from Clifford performance with the Offy Tri Power setup...... took it out for first test drive and the Harmonic balancer groove ring spun off.

It's a single groove pulley and the build sheet from Clifford says they use new pioneer harmonic balancers.

This engine is strong, seems to put out a lot of torque, should I go with a High Performance HB?

Would a 2 groove be stronger?

Any comments and suggestions are very welcome

Thanks

I think if it's new you should get a free replacment, IMO you should try to get a 2v HB, there will be more surface area for the pully to be mounted to, comepared to the 1v.

your engine bay looks great! (y)
I see dual resivor and many new things in there, how far are you going on the restore? new car performance?

i'm only guessing but I take it the shocks are in yet? unless you went with a different shock system...

Whoa! Six porn.

Hay, what's your 20? There might be other sixers in your area. Man that's gorgeous.

I hope mine turns out half as good…
That Harmonic balancer thing sucks..
Clifford should be more than eager to replace it…

Did you have any issues with your headers interfering with your starter??

Good Luck with the balancer.. what a pain in the neck hu..
That would make me want to spit napalm.

I did the Granada disc brake swap on the front and a 8" 5 lug rear end from a 64 Falcon Sprint, urethane bushings every place possible. These photos are before the shocks and import brace

It was a stock Harmonic Balancer, I am going to go with a High Performance one if anyone has some suggestions.....

No napalm spitting from me that day, I was MAD about the pulley, but, I was LOVING how the car was handling after all the suspension work I did!

Header from Clifford does have to come out, the next time (hopefully never) the starter needs changing
