Rebuild D5 Head ?'s

I have an D5 head. I have milled and mounted the Holley 2V direct adapter. Can the head be machined for the larger valves same as the D8 head. And do all the other machine work. I have a 270 & 274 cam with a .040 over block. The pistons are dished in the center. I don't think the block was decked from the previous rebuild.

I have all the new parts for the head rebuild. And will follow the Six Cyl Handbook for machine work.

I guess my main question is how much performance will be lost with the D5 head log compared to the D8 head?

Yes!

I don't think there is so much of a differance from what I remember the 75 to 77 heads castings are real close if not the same as a 78.
