info needed: cable type accelerator mods

I am using the cable type accelerator from a Fairmont on my 64 Ranchero 200.
I made a plate to mount the cable to the firewall.
Everything is fine except the cable stop ball inside the dash is too far away from the pedal arm by about 1 inch.
There is no adjustment I can see to the carb .
I could mess with the cable ball and try to slide it forward, taking up the slack but that is a major headache.

Anyone here use the cable type linkage and have ideas on how to make adjustments?

You probally just need to loosen the clamp to pull the cable housing back away from the carb or else move the mounting bracket back until you get the pedal position to your liking.

Can't you just buy a new cable ferrule and swage it on? If you can't, look for someone in your area that does control cables and they can - shops that outfit police cars or ambulances always have these tools around.
