Im looking for a way to hold down the harmonic's with out having the rotating assembly balanced. I don't need higher rpm capacity. Im look for something the dampens better. Has anyone found an aftermarket v8 dampener that fits the crank nose or a source for something better than stock dampener.

yes, but not from a bent8…
$170 for a 3 shiv performance ford6 HB right here.

also some1 on here (bmbc?) referred me to the Damper Doctor. It looks good on-line under that name @ google.

I think Romac on the other side of the planet makes something for the Ford six.
But you're looking at close to $400.

Any Ford Cars with the short or tall deck non crossflow or cross flow iron or alloy head, everything from 1963 to 1992, can take the balancer.

That includes N, T, B, or X code in line US sixes from 1963 to 1983.

(it excludes L and C code 250 US sixes from 1968 to 1980)

Dorman makes a 2 sheave damper for the small engine 200-170.

I wuz hopin they (or nother similar type provider) had a '3' for the 250…
no '2' for the 250 by them Bill? That'd be closer…

Chad, the 250 balancer has 2 belt grooves and there is a bolt on third groove to.

"...there is a bolt on third groove to...."
yes sir, lookin 4 that 1 (forget what yr Gra-naid-a)
Ford doesn't have it - may B Dorman or another like that?

R U sayin get a 2 groove & there's a 1 groove bolt on one "to build up" to 3?

Yeah, that's how my 250 is. Came out of a '70 Mustang. The third groove bolts onto the 2 groove balancer w/3 bolts. Home for lunch right now and don't have my phone with me. I can snap a pic later if you'd like. Is there a 1 groove 250 balancer?

"...snap a pic later…"
yes, thanks if side & frnt views. They use suckerheads contersunk?

"...a 1 groove 250 balancer?…"
yes, but may B only thru CI???

Not sure where they get 'em Gary, shure would like to help CI keep goin so the supply to the public would survive...

Didn't remember from when I tore the motor down, but the one I have, at least, is a smaller diameter than the balancer. The aux pulley is 6 5/16" diameter and the balancer is 6 7/8". But anyway, there you have it. It just bolts on, looks like 3/8" bolts. I think I've seen pics of 250's with 3v setups like this though where they are all the same diameter..... maybe later years??

Holy Cow, I C it there.
How does the "1" attach to the "2"?
In the pic it looks like it's just sitting on top of the other...

Check with PowerBond IIRC that's the ones Mike was carrying . Might be able to get them thru one of the bigger parts chains or Jegs or Summit.
