I would like to get away from my current fan. How many cfm is enough. I'm afraid the one I do have is probably only "good enough" to be used as an auxiliary. I don't remember the number, but it was something like 1200 cfm. I think for the sake of getting the engine back up and running, I'm going to install my old fan. I think I'll put this current fan on in pusher mode, partly to make sure that I don't overheat during the 20 min cam break-in period.

to go electric only, you need at least 2500 cfm for a six. grab an electric fan from a ford taurus with any of teh six cylinder engines. there are wiring diagrams all over the net for installing one.

^ yeah, ford taurus fan. They are available new as well. Use a heavy duty contactor/relay and have a descent alternator.

Taurus fans are also two speed. With two thermostats you can have low come on first and if needed the second thermostat can kick on the high-speed.
