1974 250 length

HI
New to the forum . can someone tell me the length of a 1974 250 from the back of the engine to the water pump flange, or the overall length minus the fan I need the measurement for a project i an working on. I am working on a 1987 range rover and would love to put a inline 6 in it.
thanks

30.5 " from the back flange to the front of the balancer if its one pulley long. Same as 200 with one belt pulley.

However, 250's ran 2 or 3 belts, so were longer always by more than 1/2". Same with 5, 6 and 9 rib serpentine belts as used by some others here(Broncitis, balldrick, Mike1157, and the planned kit by the late Mike W (AzCoupe)from Classic Inlines.

The difference is the height of the water pump. Mike1157 removed it, and then the only differnce was the length of the lower pulley. His was serpentine.

The water pump is 4.5", or half an inch longer than the pr 1978 water pump for the 200

(they were 4"on 144/170/200's before 1978)

Thanks for the info. I checked the engine compartment today and I have 33.5" from firewall to radiator, so should fit with only minor hacking and welding.
