slow oil leak

The leak is coming from the temp sending unit. Drips all the way down. I assumed the worst and just wasn't looking there.

Do you just use plumbers tape or high temp.silicone to seal?

I'd say "Yes, the tape" but
ck the threads on both 2 C if a bit of grit or other contaminate f'ed em up.
If so a chase w/tap/die can correct...

Good Find, Sharp-eye!
U just moved up to Shade Tree Mechanic I !!!
;)
(I'm still at Apprentice/Garage Rat)

 If the temp sending unit is a one wire, don`t use tape or sealer on the threads. The unit grounds through the sender body, and the tape or sealer will interfere with the ground.Result will be errors in the readings on the dash gauge.OR,no readings at all.
Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

 If the temp sender is leaking then it would also be coolant or water not oil, you can use some Permatex or silicon to seal the threads. You might also look a bit higher up at the valve cover gasket being your real oil leak. Good luck
