Low compression cylinder one

So, I've put about 20 miles on the new engine, figured I'd take a look at all my plugs. They all look like this, gapped .035 and I was thinking about taking them to .040-045.

I looked inside my #1 cylinder and its pretty wet looking.

So I ran a compression test, and all the cylinders are at 165-180 psi, but this one, at 145. Whadya think about that? Gauge has been on it for about an hour and its still holding steady, no bleed down at all.

The rings probably haven't fully seated yet. If you are using a regular compression tester, there is a check valve that holds the pressure to the gauge, so the gauge will never bleed down until you push the button. Check after 1000 miles

Hi, X2. Break the engine in. If you have electronic ignition you can open up the gap more. Good luck

Thanks fellas, sorry for the delayed response, I've been out of town for work and haven't had a chance to look at the forum much. I'll throw it back to together for a few hundred miles and check it out!

Take it out for a test run & drive it like you stole it. Bill
