Aftermarket AC?

I have a 69 Mustang with a 250. No A/C but was thinking of adding it. I've seen some A/C conversion kits for 289s but no 6 cylinders. Is there one out there? Any other recommendations?

I used Old Air Products ac system. It was really easy to install and it also got rid of the old heater. Mine was for a 200 engine, so I’m sure it would work for a 250

Vintage Air is another one, its well recommended. And not just for our rigs.
our issue is with headers, there is a lill interference w/the flange (header) & the motor mount or the body of the engine mounted component of the ac.
Continue ur research B4 the purchase to B forewarned of all issues. That leads to less surprises.

I believe the 4.1L U have would not suffer power loss, even on hills, etc. If in AZ/other hot climes - have the engine in top fit during the summer. If auto transmish make sure the radiator lines R clean. Should do fine! Didn't they come w/ac back in the day? Y not retrofit! They did have carb prts and other ac specific upgrades when engineered so ask around abt that. I'm uninformed...

I used an under dash unit from an early 60's Ford. That, with a Sanden 508 + 134a, and a BIG condenser. Bought a hose kit. Fits the car, cools great.

A Sanden 508 with cost you about 5hp, a 509 about 3.5hp.

A stock York pulls 16-18hp at full boogie. That's a pretty significant percentage of the total hp of any engine, let alone a Ford six.

The kits make it easy, but it isn't much of a challenge to put together a list of what you need and buy à la carte.
Compressor, condenser, evaporator/blower/vent assy., hoses, brackets.
Go oversized on the condenser, you won't be sorry.

Thanks guys! The 69 Mustang had an A/C option, but I think it was only for the v8.v The MACH 1 and Boss packages definitely had A/C. I'll check in to a retro fit though.

There's a picture in there of the bracket I used. I got it from a friend but had to do a slight modification for the headers. This was on a 200, so sorry I can't help if there are differences on a 250.
I also used a vintage air kit for inside. It was a universal kit, similar to the specialized one they make for 64-65 Falcon. Went in w/o problems, mostly, for my first time installing AC.

Good luck!
