I have a 69 Mustang with a 250. No factory air but I'd like to add it. Any recommendations for a complete kit? If I add power steering, should I do it at the same time?

You can find ac kits from places like classic air and jegs. I'm sure if you wrote one of them an email they could find the right product for you. A friend's dad managed to get an ac kit for a 47 Chevy truck. Not sure what engine bit it wasn't the stock one. Hope this helps

yes, Classic Air is oneada better known brands.

Will U B doin this ur self?

No chance in ur area for junk yard find (by Y/M/M)?
Car-part.com? (by y/m/m...gotta know ur rig'n what yr/motor hadid).

keep talkin...

Yeah I'll do it myself. I'm not sure I know what constitutes a full system so I'm inclined to buy a new kit, but used is certainly an option.

i just say "used" cuz of price'n bein able 2 C it all together in the donor (for ease of transferring 2 ur own).
Where do U live (junk yrd availability)?

I am far from an expert but I suspect that your big challenges will be finding the brackets for your engine and a kit that works with the 6-cylinder compressor location since most of the Ford kits available are for V8's.

The 250 engine AC compressor mounts above the alternator on the right side and the power steering uses another bracket on the left side. If you find the factory AC bracket you'll most likely also need an adapter to fit the Sanden compressor to the York/Tecumseh bracket. It's not impossible but you will have to do some work and probably spend "extra" to get adapters and possibly custom hoses.

It might be worth your while to call or email the companies directly to explain what you want to do and ask if they offer everything you need to meet your needs. As mentioned, the big dogs in this industry are Vintage Air (https://www.vintageair.com/), Classic Auto Air (https://www.classicautoair.com) and Nostalgic AC Parts (https://nostalgicac.com/)

I thought I saw the opposite sides used 4 accessories AC/PS...on above "tech archive" (@ above big blue box w/crossed screw driver'n wrench) ie a lill interference @ header flange. May B it wuz a pic in 'the Handbook"? (Every X some 1 mentions accessories my ears perk up. I may need space for 6 pulleys).

On the 250 the factory location for the AC compressor is above the alternator on the right side (pass. side). The factory location of the PS pump is on the left (driver's side). I have a few photos of the bracket for the alternator/AC on my web pages (http://mit.midco.net/jharcinske/Belts.html and http://mit.midco.net/jharcinske/AC.html).

The MPC (Master Parts Catalog) Volume B has fair illustrations of both the AC position (pages 16 and 17 of section 197.1) and the PS (page 10 in section 36).

Hope this helps :)

much beddah:
"driver's ", "passenger's" sides~
'L' & 'R' can B misconstrued frm frnt of motor rather than used appropriately frm sitting in vehicle.

again, header flange has been shaved for those wanting a/c (& showing a bracketry change).
See tech archive by CI as they wrked around THAT prob yrs ago. May B something (related more distantly) 4 ya there.

I have pic on other 'puter of the bracket I welded up 2 put PS on a bronk i6 (never available oe) if interested...
