Not trying to gloat, but thought I would show you guys a option for making your old air cleaner work on a Weber.

I cut out the bottom of the base plate and put a piece of sheet metal underneath that hat a opening for the Weber.

nice job!
Like it!
some do something similar but the hole cut is smaller & only in the 'bottom plate'.

EDIT:
oh, wait - just relooked @ pic.
Guess I don't C what I see...

Here's a version of modified Maverick 250 RBS AC for ultra-low clearance:

modified chrome aftermarket version, flipping lower plate allows lower profile

OK, "the blue" looks like the top one inch was cut off the oe Maverick 250/RBS 'base' (what filter will fit - is the rest a correct assumption?)?

"the chrome" is just a 9 inch aftr mrkt w/(as U say) the bottom 1/2 of an open style AC inverted on a Weber of some sort.

Thanks powerband.

The seriously short Maverick 250 air cleaner had the base carb hole hammered flat and cut to the Weber (H/W 5200), otherwise it's stock 250 / RBS air cleaner with stock filter. The 250 RBS carb air cleaner OEM base 'hole' is almost at the top cover from factory to clear Maverick hood line.

BTW it's secured with a simple wire 'basket' to air cleaner nut.

"BTW it's secured with a simple wire 'basket' to air cleaner nut." (y)
that's the piece we need.
Guy left his toy jeep in the shop...asked it "be gone all over". Weber 32/36 (same as here) has had the linkage messed w/(both V open @ once, "all in, all the time"). It is the Toy. LandCruser w/the 6 cyl (only offered in '81&2) 4.1L.

Where can we get that "wire bail with screw top" ("wire 'basket' to air cleaner nut")?

Just re-jetted it (increased timing). No more fouled plugs...

The wire basket' uses the solid wire part of an old car antenna I "formed" to fit. Any stiff wire would work.

A Maverick 250 air cleaner like ne I modifed for 32/36 is the lowest clearance air cleaner AFAIK, one for dale on EBay - Not mine

I already have a weber to a 5 1/8 adapter so im thinking of putting my 289 air cleaner on it.

Not 100% sure it will clear but ill be trying jt soon. I want to have the snorkel fixed since it has some weird exhaust thing on it. Like i think ill have a round one made since jt bolts right on and off
