64 fairlane with a 200. New battery and all cables, new alternator, new coil, new pertronix new plugs and wires and solid state voltage regulator, I’ve already been through 2 starter solenoids and today, no click just nothing. Only 9 volts on the I terminal.

Have you verified that the charging system is working correctly? Is the battery fully charged up to reading of 13.4 to 13.8 volts? What brand of solenoid are you using? You might try a NAPA Echlin if your using one of the bargain auto parts brands, good luck (y)

I will try one of those. Last one I had auto zone order for me.
I wrked @ AutoZone 5 yrs, don't buy em.
(when U say "ordered" wuz it still a Duralast?).

Elchin is a better bet as posted in ur other thread (no, wait...that wuz a VR - but still !).
(But still not a guarantee).

This is a problem with a long history. Aftermarket solenoids seem to be of uniformly poor quality and don't last if they do work initially. Most people with experience recommend getting a Motorcraft solenoid. They are available from National Parts Depot (and probably other places).
