Well I finally am starting my 250 short block build. Meet with the machine shop yesterday and set a plan. I have a set of NOS TRW forged pistons with a 6.5cc dish. I will be installing ARP rod bolts and main bolts. Everything will be resized with the new ARP bolts installed. He will be balancing everything so it runs nice and smooth. End C/R with be 10.5-1.

I will be installing my CI alum head(50.5 chamber) and intake, 1.65 YT roller rockers, DUI dist recurved for new build, new high flow water pump from FlowKooler, headers, electric fans, new oil pump and fuel pump. Holley 390 4bbl. I plan to install a 2bbl FiTech shortly after drive the engine for a bit.

Still not sure which cam I will be running.

Call Jerry @ Schneider Cams. He is very knowledgeable wit h our ford small sixes. You can mention my name.
I don't anything from it but he will guide you in the right direction.Bill

I just spoke with him on the phone. I just need to figure out if i am going to use the Fitech or Sniper EFI or triple Weber side drafts.

Here are the specs for my 250 build.
69 block bored .020 over, decked to .040, NOS TRW .020 forged piston 6.5cc dish, main cap girdle, ARP main studs, ARP bolts on rods, resized rods, balanced rods and pistons, crank polished, Aline honed, C/R 10.5-1, 1.65 Yella Terra roller rockers, DUI, dual out headers and x pipe to 2" exhaust, Schneider cam 262/270 112(.050 208/214, lift 478 and 486) CI alum head and intake with performance porting, FiTech EFI( 2bbl or 4bbl). T5 with billet steel fly wheel. Hoping for 250+HP and TQ. New bolts from AMK. Hopefully start Assembly in a couple of weeks.

Cam was recommend by Schneider cams for my build. I wanted low end TQ and the 112 is better for EFI.

Up date with pics. I changed my cam from the Schneider cam 262/270 112 to the Clay Smith 274/274 110. Hope fully have the engine together this week. Then I get to figure out a new A/C bracket and engine mounts. I also found a set of NOS Hooker competition 6602 headers. Looks like I will me running Holley Sniper EFI. Story will be featured in Mustang Monthly.

I've post all three of my builds on here.

"...I will be selling it with..."
or as a sales endeavor...

The sales part was because another asked about the bellhousing. Not trying to sell stuff in the thread.

Plus doing a new build thread gives other ideas on how to gain performance and what works for others. There are many build threads under this section.

10.5:1 w/ a 250 is a big ask on pump gas. I see you've got an aluminum head and you're using a pretty big cam. With 50 1/2 cc chambers and stock size dishes you must have alot of leeway in deck height. Did you deck the block at all? How fast are you planning on spinning this beast? Did you drop the efi plans? Imo, ol boy screwed the pooch when he made the head patterns w/ 54cc chambers.

The block has been deck to .040. Plan to make red line 6000rpms, I will be running Holley Sniper EFI. I never planned on building a 250 when I bought the head. So that is why I had Mike mill the head a bit.

I love the build threads. Gives me ideas, inspirations, and allows others to comment and ask questions.

Wish we saw more of these.

check policy.
I C elsewhere for build threads.
Nothing implied "none" on ford6.

Nice pictures. Keep them coming.

I swapped in a Power Master mini stater then wrapped it with a heat shield from DEI. It will not do anything for performance. But, it did give me some good header clearance. Plus, it turns over easier.

As for side drafts or EFI. That might also determine your fuel system setup.
For the EFI you can keep your current setup and use an external pump. But, you will need a return. Unless you already have one. For the side drafts nothing really changes.

Also, if you run side drafts or any carb. I always liked running a fuel filter with a return line or vapor return. The original OZ 250's did this. https://www.google.com/search?ei=c5OXXM ... 3-rSY-0jOI

But, I prefer an internal pump for EFI. Either way, I have some extra parts that might help you. Just PM me.

Thnx 4 the opportunity...last comment.

Mostly this forum is for tech Qs. Less is for "Look what I'm doin." or - sales.
The posts U put in the body R mostly a tech Q format. Not wavin it around'n sayin:
"Look at what I got."
Nuttin personal, all bout purpose. Again, I defer to policy'n my delete button.

I will be using a mini starter from PA performance. I figure the extra clearance would be nice with headers.

This is the fuel setup I will be using new from Holley. WHich it uses your stock tank. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_sy ... rts/12-305
