‘64 build advice

I’m hopefully pulling the motor this coming week so I will snap some photos.
I bought it specifically for the transmission more than anything. The van itself was pretty rough. Raccoons living in there and a sunroof missing he glass so everything inside was pretty thrashed. The surprising part was no rust. Just a small spot on the side where they cut through when installing some sliding windows.
As far as the doghouse clearance. If I can fit everything in there I’m into it. But I most likely will make a new one.
The offy 3 carb Intake looks great but I’m not sure if it’s worth it in performance.

The Offy 3 X 1V intake mod is a proven performance upgrade that is fairly easy to do and tune, see below link that shows how to install one. I believe this was the first magazine article written on this mod in late 1959. These 3x1V set ups were being used on the small sixes from the very beginning of the Falcon and Comet production. Good luck (y) :nod:

"...what I'm doing..."
"Direct Mount 2v" as seem in above 'tech archive' (at crossed screwdriver/wrench)
scroll to "2v conversion" under Small Six ( the 1st 'category' ).

I say go w/ the 2V or a big 1 barrel. Save yourself the trouble of finding the right carb combo to tune and good carbs to do it unless it's just for fun. I'm sure it's kick ass when it's dialed in. It's old school. Your gonna tune it one way or another. It's all about what you want from it. I'll support you either way ;) :LOL:

"...go w/ the 2V ..."
for HP;
/OR/
"...a big 1 barrel..."
for tq, no?

The 3X1 (one guy on here is tryin 3X2v) is also for (real good) HP & to show off 2 ur buddies. May B
easier w/a hood than a dog house? Or may B if ur buddy is female? (apologies to the women who read -
making a joke @ ur expense).
