I have a 65 200 block at the machine shop to have work done,already had to open bores to .060 but I never checked the deck and was wondering how much would be good to remove. I will be running a late model EOBE head with multiple carbs, just want to get compression around 9.5 or higher, not a daily driver but just a fun car. I have the Performance Handbook but only found to "0" deck the block, Thanks for any help.

Yes zero deck the block. The victor head gasket is .044" compressed, the Fel-Pro is .048" thick compressed.
Need to get you combustion chamber cc's close the 50 cc's. That will get you very close to 9.5 compression.
You will need to get a camshaft over 260 duration otherwise your dynamic # will be on the high side. Bill
