I have aquired a 200 out of a 67 Falcon that I am building up for an install into an MGA.
I don’t have any experience with small Ford six engines, but I have rebuilt many VW, MG and Chrysler V8’s and motorcycle engines over the years. The 200 that I have has been completely tore down and ready to be machined and modified to accept the crossflow head. I am really at the beginning stage of all this, but I wanted to know what kind of power I can expect. Mostly for planning purposes as I need to know if my rear end can handle the power. I know there are a ton of variables here. I’ll add what I know for now. Just looking for an educated guess. So stock 200 internals apart from a mild performance cam. Stock crossflow head, stock compression which I think is 9.5:1.
My plan is to make this engine appear to look like a British Ford so looking to install a triple SU carb setup possibly HS6 carbs. Exhaust will be a header, no idea on diameter of exhaust pipe at this time.
Wanting close to 200HP and 275lbft of Torque. I see on the home page there is a picture of an SU carb intake With triple SU’s. Is that a custom intake manifold or something than can be purchased.
