Wheel Question?

Post #1 by papawfalcon » Fri Dec 18, 2009 10:44 pm

I know this question has been asked before. But here goes. I have a '62 RANCHERO with a '63 FALCON 5 lug rearend. I know that a rearend in a FALCON doesn't sit even.I know tire make a diffferance on whether they rub or not.How does rim and tire from a 15-17 in full size rearwheel drive work. And a twist would rim from a dodge work better for backspacing and NO rub? Thanks Ken N.

the best stock wheels i hav found that work well are old like mid 80s jeep steel wheels they are almost flat on the front and they come in 15x7 i had a 69 torino rearend under my 66 mustang for a while and thats what i used because the 69 rearebd was like 6 inches wider than the 66 rearend and i used those and never rubbed
66 mustang coupe 200 punched 30 over headers autocraft 2100 front disks 4 speed and a 8 inch posi 4:11
80 mustang hatchback 200 t5 5 speed and 2:80 gears 51 mpg highway
82 f100 swb 300 c6 9 inch rear 3:50 gears
62 ranchero 170 2:77 3 speed 6.5 rear 3:90 gears top speed is 1/2 the speed of smell
