Fix it or Fling it ?

Post #1 by oldgrezmonke » Thu Mar 22, 2012 7:47 pm

I have been trying to find a '60-61 air cleaner assembly or even just the base . i thought I had found one but when I cleaned it up I found damage to the base . I worked out a refund with the seller and kept the parts . I have an idea how to repair it but let's see what the consensus is here . Maybe someone will have a better idea . In the first 4 pictures the tube that attaches to the carb airhorn is already apart from the base [Yeah , that damaged] . That part is in good shape . The last picture is how it should look .

If you have a way to weld it then I would fix it should not take very long to hammer it straight and weld.
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.
