62 rescue

Post #1 by cobraguy » Fri Apr 25, 2014 12:56 pm

Yes I'm back. After taking some time away from here I'm glad to say I'm back. I just rescued the 62 2dr from my oldest son. He had done nothing to improve it since he moved out 4yrs ago. This is the one we(I) stuck a 250/c4 out of a maverick in. I gave him my 88 Toyota 4x4 and some cash to help him out. I did a tune up and made door panels from some 1/8" plastic sheeting. I also threw in some carpet. I plan to put all the trim back on it but need 2 pieces I'm missing. Anybody out there have a left quarter panel stainless strip or a right rear wheel well strip for a 62 2dr deluxe?

Welcome back and good luck on the 62 rescue!
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

Its not in bad shape. The garage paint job we did is fading and lifting in a couple spots where we got lazy on the prep. The seats I put in it are now pretty thrashed. I'll bring it back slowly, but for now its my rainy day driver.

I finally got it painted. If I did this right you all should see a pic I put on FB from its public debut at our local Cruise Night last night.

If that don't get a picture then I give up. Come out to Cali and look at it in person
