Air Conditioning Pulley

Post #1 by RangoonRed65 » Sat May 29, 2010 3:21 pm

Does anyone know if another pulley is required for factory AC on a 65 with 200 six, other than the one that bolts to the harmonic balancer? Or do you have to use a larger belt to hit all the pulleys since the AC compressor bracket relocates the alternator? Anyone got pics if their car has factory air? Thanks. Jonathan.

Also is there any variants if you have power steering? How about a smog pump?

Had a 66 mustang coupe, traded in for a 93 convert 2.3.

Just the single add on pulley is all that is required.

If you have PS and A/C then the alternator has a
short belt that runs up to the compressor then a belt
runs from the compressor to the water pump and crank.
PS belt goes around the PS pump, water pump and crank.

Without PS, then a belt for the alternator to the water pump
and crank, the other belt compressor, water pump and crank.

Leave me PM with your e-mail if you would like pics.

Does anyone have any pictures of a factory A/C compressor installation on a 200cid 65 Mustang?

I have a single sheave crank, water pump, alternator and idler pulley, but a double sheave A/C compressor pulley and the compressor only lines up with the idler puller, which lines up with nothing else.

Any ideas?
