Storing a 65 coupe outside?

Post #1 by MalcolmA » Fri Feb 10, 2017 7:57 pm

Hi guys,

I've found myself in the unfortunate situation that means I no longer have a garage to store my '65 coupe, and unable to rent garage space. I would hate to have to sell her, but I don't know what kind of damage would be done by keeping her outside for the rest of the time I'm renting a place here (likely 15+ months). I live in San Diego county, so the weather is pretty good, we're just getting past the rainy season and even then it doesn't happen too often.

I have a Covercraft evolution cover for it, which is great. Looking for a bit of advice here, I want to make sure there's no wear due to weather. She's in amazing condition and mostly stock, so I'd hate to see any damage.

Thanks

You should be fine for that amount of time just be sure to keep your Mustang's exterior clean and polished to protect the paint work and the cover should protect the interior from sun damage. Good luck
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

A concern I would have is MICE !
My car was off the road for over 18 years, it had mouse nests in the front frame rails ( both sides), and beneath the rear seat.
Know any friendly/hungry cats ?
