Anyone can restore a car, it takes a real hotrodder to cut one up and make it cool.

Hi, we actually have 2. my wife wanted aV8 one a few years ago, so found one locally factory 302 car , 72. was kinda rough but we got it together.
IN the process of geting her car right i found a 76 with a 250 I6, (thought it was a 200 originally). was GOING to use it as a parts car until i go tth ehistry on it, and foud out it only had 55K on it. Plan was to use the (supposed) 200 in my 62 falcon to replace the worn out 144 turd drive, but since it was a 250 car, and it ran perfectly, I kept it together.

ive decided to warm up the 250, and have machined the head for an autolite 2bbl from an early 289, have a 260H fgrind cam, and will be have the head milled. lower end seems to be in fantastic shape so im leaving it be. the head in the picture bought remanned and immediatley tore apart to do the work to. the 76 'old blue' is still together.

also addding a 6 -into-1 header. Running an HEI distributor currently as well. may eventually get a turbo.. but we will see.

car curently has the addco swaybars ft/rear. will be updatng the front control arms to rollers, and dropping the whole thing about 2". I plan on keeping it an ugly park bench bumper car. im aiming for mid 70's home brewed rally car look.

My wifes car, however, will be the better of the 2 as far as desireability. both are used as drivers, but not as sole transportation.

Hi MaverickBrazil, very nice! I haven't seen much info on the Brazilian Mavericks. Sure would be nice to have some of those heads and engines here to use in ours! Good luck
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.
