51hudson commodore i6

hi fellas. im usually more in the 200 ford realm, but i have a weakness for anything inline. i have a chance to but a 51 commodore flattie six and three on the tree (weird clucth linkage btw) and while i do know that the "twin h" 308 had dual carbs what i dont know is if there were single carb versions available or was the 308 even offered in the commodore and how to tell which engine (by eyeball as i cant just be bustin up in peoples yard ya understand)?

The 308 was offered in the Hornet exclusively. I don't know how to tell a 308 from a 262. There were single carb versions made.
