How-dy.

While shopping for a suitable body shell to one project, ended up with an oddball Volvo from the early 50's. Most of the body sheetmetal is nailed to original wooden body structure, a flat six, 3-spd, 140" wheelbase (yeah that's right), strange mixture of 30-40-50 styling and such.

Looks a little like this one at http://www.konditori100.se/garage/carma ... opv830.jpg

Anyway the engine is a type ED 3.7 liter (appr. 230 cid) flat six, a genuine Volvo piece of history. 90 hp @ 3600.

http://hem.passagen.se/chpe6265/volvo.html contains pictures of a similar engine although the car is the earlier model.

Sure would make a different engine for a a rod.

Are you positive it's made by Volvo? Looks like an old Continental flat head six!

I am not 100% certain but do suspect it is a genuine Volvo, although could imagine the Continental heritage in some form is a possibility too. Volvo has been making engines for a very long time, well prior to this 800 series.

It's a flathead six anyway.... :D
