I am rebuilding my '53 215ci OHV inline six engine and have a question. I found some NOS FoMoCo push rods. Their part number is B6A-6565-E. I couldn't find this number in my parts books but it says right on the box that they replace EAA-6565-C which is the part number listed in my 1953 truck chassis parts catalog.
However, these push rods are about 1/4" shorter than the ones that came out of the engine I'm rebuilding. My parts engine also had the longer push rods. I found a reference to two different push rod lengths for the 215 in a Mac's Auto Parts catalog. Why were two push rod lengths available? It sure doesn't look like the shorter ones will work in my engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
