What up guys! I have having trouble ordering parts for engine not sure if I have the 223 or 262 can any one help,

The standard engine used in all the 1954 to 1963 F100 pickups was the Milage Maker 223 Six. A 262 six was usally only installed by Ford in the larger F500 and bigger trucks (1961 to 64) and was only offered as an option for one year in the F100 during 1964. The chances are most likely that you have a 223. Though the 262's were sometimes swapped into other years they were somewhat rare and hard to obtain. To verify what you have some pictures and or the block and head casting / design numbers also would work. The 223 went through a few changes over the years so the Casting numbers would also verafy the year 223 engine you have which will help you know the right parts to order. Good luck on your pick up. There are only two valve cover gaskets for the entire series of that engine. Fel-Pro VS10604 fits the early style with two studs through the top of the cover. This would be 215 and 223 through 1959. Fel-Pro VS12690 fits the 8 bolt valve cover used from 1960 on in 223 and 262 engines.

You did not mention whether you wanted the front or rear crankshaft seal but the rear seal is Fel-Pro BS61413 (C1AZ6A321A, C1AZ6A32A) and the same for 223 and 262.

All the above parts are currently available from Rock Auto. I'd imagine your local NAPA should have them as well.

Bubba's information and request for pictures, etc. will help us identify what you have for the future.
