Does anyone here know if the Bolt Patterns are the same for the above Engines & Bell Housings? I read some where that they are, but have yet to be able to Confirm or Debunk it.

If by some small chance they are, it will save some of us a lot of Headaches in the future w/ installing an up to date Automatic Tranny.

The Y-block isn't FMX-sized, but with a little American endevor, you could get the gentle men to post the bolt to bolt spacings, and see if the Y-block and I block are the same.

I always understood that the I block used 4.4 inch bore spacings, and that the six and eight shared some production tooling in the design phase. But I've been wrong before.

Hope you get the help you need. I'd say the block casting is night on bomb proof, like all 50's Ford's were. Before thin-wall castings and throwaway culture.

Knot-heads, he he he. I love the term. I get splinters each time I brush my hair.....
