HEI Distributors from CRT Performance, A Team, and Dragon Fire

Post #1 by F6 lathead » Tue Jan 02, 2018 5:12 pm

Has anybody had any experience with any of these brands of distributors? I have a 1967 F100 with a 300 six that I was thinking of putting one in from CRT Perf. I have read some good reviews of this particular one. Thanks for any input.

They are not precision recurved for your engine combination.
Don't waste your money.
How do i know because i have to recurve these distributors. As shipped they are not a good buy.
I recurve these distributors several time a week for the small six. This also applied for the big six.
Thats why i charge $225.00 recurved for yor engine. Bill

I have an A-Team HEI distributor and will be putting it on the engine I am rebuilding. I am interested to see how it does and how easy(or not) it is to setup, reliability, etc.

It should be no different than any other stock distributor, not optimized for the straight six, but should run it fine.

I'll post my experience with it once it is up and running.

I will stay tuned for your results, I take it this is not one that has been recurved for your application?

and I guess going along with the distributor conversation, does anyone know of an on line, or local parts house chain that stocks Motor Craft tune up accessories? I've seen a few items on Ebay and other sites but not much.

No, it has not been recurved. I'll get it going then see what needs to be done.
