Trying to find EGR Bolt

Post #1 by 94f150rules » Wed Dec 05, 2018 6:19 pm

Hey guys I finally have my truck all back together and the engine is sitting in it, only problem is I lost one EGR Bolt. For some reason no one at the auto parts stores even a Napa can find the stupid Bolt what is it? It seems like it's a coarse thread 8 millimeter. And yes I have brought them the one bolt that I have.

an 8x1.25?
a 2.50 should be commonly available at ace.

a 1.25 less likely but possible.
napa has 1.25 if it's a big store
a long love affair with the 300 six.
my lastest and final fling is a fresh 300 in an 88 ford f350 dually 4X flatbed

I've found Fastenal to be an excellent source for bolts and nuts of all kinds.

Some are better than others. The last time I tried to buy a bolt from them they said I had to order a package of 50.

It’s 8mmx1.25? That is the most common thread. You should be ble to find that at most hardware stores.
Stuck? I have a core engine. PM me and I’ll mail you one.

I tried lowes, ace, home depot, and Royal auto parts, they all had 8mm x 1.5 no coarse threads or just standard sizes, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't something strange. Thank you guys

We have Standard and Coarse Thread with The SAE, With Metric you have the Thread Pitch which is Basically the same thing once you understand it. There can be as many Pitch's as 3 depending on the Size. Same as SAE, like a Thread count of 13,18 an 24 in the same Bolt Diameter. Don't get Discouraged most of your Farm Stores and Box Stores will not carry all the Pitch's, And Fastenal is a Great source, and No you do not have to Order a 25 Pack. I've had them Order 1 Bolt on Several Occasions and usually overnight and a Price comparable with anybody.
